I made a video to introduce new players to our game but it didn't go down well so we decided to can it off and leave it but alot of effort went into it and i feel that it wasn't a good idea anyway either way it was all fine the video was produced using many diffrent softwares at a basic to intermidiete level the softwares used were...

About the Project.


The project is over and i am happy with the end result of the project, would have been nice to get more help with the work because to honest apart from Connan and Ishy the rest of our group felt that they deserved credit for the project simply because they ONLY provided there character's.. All the work was entirely created by Me and Connan. ALONE. From the Battle Cards, Boards, Player stats, Balencing Stats, charecter logo's providing idea's for improvements and to be honest i felt that we had done all the work for them. This project was a pleasure to work with for all the hours me and connan spent working on blogs as well as 'green stuff' models sadly i didn't get chance to paint mine because to honest i was to busy helping my lay about 'Team-mates' finish photoshop pieces that was mean't to be finished in summer holidays 5 weeks ago. Much Credit is to be given to mates like connan with us two constantly having to juggle modelling, Blogging, Game work and doing a hell of a task of making peers work.

HP, Utility and Attack Stats!

      Here are the primary and secondary attacks the description is explaining the secondary attack all damage in game is to be modifide by the damege modifiyer

Here are the utilities all of them will be used like a kill streak i.e the first utility will be able to use after the eighth turn whilst the second will be aloud to be used after the twelth turn, the antichase will only be aloud to use after the player has been in a locked chase situation with the enemy following your charecter in order to finish him the anti-chase will eliminate the chase and 'bound to die' situation as found in play tests.

 On the far right you can our games damage modifier it's purpose is to change everyones attack base, everytime someone roles the dice the outcomes are +1, +2, +3, -1, -2, -3 so whenever an attack is issued it goes through the modifier the idea is that it provides varieation for each game and provides a little more sparkle to our gameplay.

Game Rules - Health, Hits 'n' bits!



  Attack - As a primary attack the 'attacker' has a base hit of 32 and a secondary that doesn't do damage but uses an electric shock that numbs the attackers hit by 10 for two goes the attacker can only hit an enemy if the enemy is in a one square parallel the attacker is the only player that can move one or two spaces depending on the rotation of go.





The ranger can hit an enemy from three squeres away in any direction (it doesn't have to be in a straight line) the ranger has only 5 arrows to use against enemies each arrow is of a weaker strenth so that archers arn't overpowered each arrow we found had to be at a strenth of 15 and the secondary has a streanth of 30 so that ranger isn't at a disadvantage from a distence







The Mage can also use a ranged attack under the secondary attack but only can hit from 2 squeres away aswell each blast from a mage's attack comes in at at 16. The mage also uses a close range primary attacks each attack from the primary comes in at 27 per hit the mage has a overall hitpoint count of 100

Re-visited Battle Cards


We decided to revisit our battle cards due to the fact that it wasn't very informative the battle card was created again visually by me the template was provided by connan (all the work was done entirely by us two alone) the battle cards show everything that the player can do in game.

 For example you can skip your go, move in any direction, use a utility  or attack using either your primary and secondary attack, oh and use anti-chase! with a fully blown concept art work piece of the charecter and a cute few lines of a character background.


Every player has a pretty diffrent HP count which plays a vital role in our game player as explained in 'Game rules'

The Board





The initial board wasn't to full satisfaction due to the fact that it wouldn't work with the randomiser, the idea is that the randomiser would drop a mine on a point on the map and if it was marked it would be better to lay coordinates on the map to make the board more clear when players are fighting.












Here is the board i created for ceija it's created by connecting many hexagon in a pentagon shape it's now got it's hexagon layout.

We do know that the board has an inbalenced squere diffrence with the the board being 4 tall from the bottom and only 3 tall from the middle to the top.

Look & Feel



Our Game is called 'CEIJA'. To me as designer a look and feel for a game comes across as great asset to a game, even if the game doesn't play well the look, emotion and style was there to provide a positive pre-experience of the game before you fully play it so i personally set about a mission to make a watermark to add to any documentations, presentations, adaptations, creations and Card representations.






For the main bit i just used a basic reflected liquefy tool in photoshop and the same on the bottom just gives it a little bit of a distorted look in the work middle of the text the two red letters are actually visual representatives of two players, i tried to convey this point by making the J in CEIJA an I but stretched the style suggests Rivalry

Sculpting



for some stupid reason i never taken pictures of my model in proccess because it only took my two days to make

i made a GIF of the model spinning if i come to paint my model (even though the deadline was yesterday) i will learn from my dumbness and take pictures of the proccess



For my Sculpture of 'Icky' using 'green stuff' using the material for the second time was good, i used it well and got a great model down.

Sadly i didn't take any pictures of my model but soon there will be new pictures to view in the near futur

Characters and Gameplay


Characters and Gameplay

Our Game is very relient on characters and there moves, We as Team Pentagon like to explain our game as a combat based 5 player chess with each player instead of using chess pieces to play you use different moves on a 'Battle Card' as explained on the battle cards post all five players spawn in 5 different edges of the pentagon shaped board and they all battle it out using there own special abilities and who ever is left at the end of the fight is declared the winner of the battle.

                                                                     
                                                                          Gameplay

 During fights it's essential to use THEIR players ability to it's maximum efficiency in a fight which is essential to our combat play style and gameplay to allow different players with smarter combat decisions to play stronger and win battles, winning the game. It's a case of the better player rather than the better character this was an essential rule in our production of the game.




Attack is a fast nimble player, in fact the attacker the most mobile character on the board who can deal an average range of damage on a steady basis the character used for attack is Icky made by me his off topic moves involve electrical surges that stun the opposition and allow the player to have a slight edge in a battle and it's main attack of two sword slashes to unleash an average dealing hit





Healers are the only characters on the board including all utilities that came actively heal themselves during combat based on the damage last dealt from an attacking opponent (During a fight) the healer can move freely around the board not as fast as the attacker, The healer can deal out a basic level of damage slightly less than an attacker.






Magic is a range based attack with the ability to attack close range and aswell as the chance to hit from two squeres away the mage has a very distinct hitpoints to power ratio 


The range is a 3 squere away hitting mad house that can also hit close range the HP for the ranger is fairly high the ranger has also a very strong utility range.

The tank has the ability one the first go to use a powerful, explosive alpha strike teqnique that has a massive 62 hit thats enough to ruin someones day the tank has a strong HP threshold and can keep delivering the punishment but on a weaker scale after the Alpha strike has been used, the tank has a great advantage but trust me when i saw it isn't overpowered!

Today we have finished our game rule book completely and production of the board and character models can be started we've started on our battle cards that i created in a few minutes, to my team mates haven't been satisfactory piece was made in Photoshop (as shown below as well as explanation of what battle cards are).

We also today finished the name of our game. In the afternoon today at around 2pm before college at 4pm whilst on Xbox having a long conservation with one of my team members Ishmale we had the idea of making an anagram of all our names and making a name for our board game.

All 5 Players will have hand held cards called 'Character Cards'. on these cards are information on the character you are using in battle, his abilities a little bit about the character and a full concept piece in the corner

After making this piece the criticism i received tells me i have to completely remake my work up again in a new style one of my team members Connan will make a more sufficient template in which we both worked on to use for the board game.


Here is the new template Connan drew up on his iPad all the same points will be conveyed in this version just in a different way the top right will display the characters concept art the top left will have the players name and ability the middle HUD is the battle menu that conveys the controls of your character in game, the logo in the middle is a visual display of the tools you can use in battle. The rest is most likely trivial.
